Norcent 10MP DC-1020 – review

I like this camera. I bought this camera a couple of weeks back ( last week of June 2007 ) from Walmart.com in preparation for my trip to the East Coast with my mom. A picture is worth a thousand words so take a look at the pictures here.

A short summary of what I liked and what I did not like about the Norcent DC-1020,

  • No viewfinder, this is a big issue if you are out in the sun, LCD screens don’t work well in the sun!
  • Poor Battery indicator. Think your battery has drained! power off and power on the camera and the battery power is back to the brim. huh!
  • Blurry pictures on zoom shots, practically makes the zoom feature unusable! I haven’t tried the zoom with a tripod yet, it may be worth a shot.
  • No image stabilization, see the above point
  • No memory card included (supports only SD card, which comes only with the starter bundle)
  • Tip: Get the starter bundle and the energizer battery charger from walmart its a good deal if you can get your hands on it.
